Photo is here
Silently lock the door
Walk past the gate
Step two, three, four
The barking will abate
Jasmine tendrils abound
Brushing them aside
Their scent wafts all around
Tickles my nose inside
Changing tack to paths anew
I tiptoe across with ease
Dreaming of my rendezvous
Oh heavens no - a sneeze!
And another few, then breathe..
Too late, the lights are on
I ponder options for reprieve
Walking back now forlorn
They take my keys and card
But not (thank god) my phone
I type out 'Our eve is marred'
'Am in my room alone'
There is no reply
So I turn in for bed
In the darkness I cry
For the words left unsaid
